I tried AVS Video as a trial, and the quality of converted video was poor and the watermark annoying. I use a PC with Windows7, and had no problems.
2. Aiseesoft DVD Ripper
Pros: It supports an array of formats and devices and delivers top speed and video quality.
Cons: DVD Ripper lacks direct support; only technical support is available via email.

Cons: Conversion can take a long time; customization options are difficult to browse.
Summary: It allows individuals to transfer and backup the movies of their choice to the DVD and therefore be able to enjoy watching them on any DVD player without encountering any problem at all. It shows quality videos together with enhanced sounds. But ConvertXtoDVD ONLY converts to DVD. I know it sounds obvious, but it will not convert your files to any other format such as PSP, Ipod, iPhone ect. I know, it's a crying shame.
4. Any DVD Coneverter Professional
Pros: A reliable converter focused on just a few output options; great when you need to make multiple segments from one movie; delivers decent conversion speed and quality (1:5 speed ratio, meaning it can convert five minutes of video in approximately one minute); ideal for merging separate home video clips
Cons: Customization features are a bit lacking.

Unique to the layout of the software is its list of mobile devices in the left sidebar. It is clearly a mediocre conversion application. It doesn't offer the diverse features found on our top DVD to MP4 converters, but a rapid conversion speed and a clean, simple user interface make the software definitely worth a look.

i have tried different earphones but the the problem persists.

It would be very strange if the only effect after dropping it was for the bass to be decreased on one side. A physical issue would probably lead to crackling in either/both earphones, and a drive issue wouldn't manifest like that, it would likely be a read problem. Regardless, you probably can't fix it yourself, and it would likely be too costly to merit getting it repaired.
My suggestion is that you fiddle with the equalizer, maybe even shifting the balance slighly to the left channel to counteract that effect.
