Do you need a Power Driver for every High Power 1W LED?
Are drivers for a specific current AC, DC? someone explain why you need them please. im putting about 40 High Power 1W 3.5v 350mA LEDs on a curcuit and am wondering if i need them. i havent desided if i want to go AC or DC current yet is there a better one for LED's to get the most Lumins out of it?
LEDs are DC devices. Trying to use AC wouldn't be a good idea. You'll need the correct current for the LEDs you want to use. LEDs are current driven devices and require the right current. If you supply the right current they'll get the right voltage. For a 3.5 volt, 350 mA LED you need to drop the extra voltage but still supply the necessary current. You'll need a resistor to limit the current the LED gets. Let's use a 12 volt power supply as an example. 12 volts minus 3.5 volts leaves 8.5 volts. Divide this voltage by 350 mA to get the value of the resistor needed. 8.5 volts divided by 0.350 amps gives you a value of 24.3 ohms. Use a 27 ohm resistor as that's the closest standard resistor value. The resistor will have to be rated at 10 watts at least. The 8.5 volts at 350 mA means it will have to dissipate 9 watts of power. This is wasted power. If you use a lower value power supply you can use a lower value resistor and waste less power. The best way to go would be to get a current regulated power supply and just set the current to what you need. You'll still need resistors to balance the current through each LED but you'll be wasting much less power. To power 40 LEDs, each drawing 350 mA will require a power supply that can deliver at least 14 amps.
You can wire the LEDs in series. Put 3 in series for a total voltage of 10.5 volts. 12 minums 10.5 is 1.5 volts extra. Divide the 1.5 by 0.350 A and you'll need a 4.29 ohm resistor. 5.6 ohms would be the nearest standard value. 1.5 volts at 350 mA is just over half a watt. A 1 watt resistor could be used and you're wasting much less power. The 40 LEDs (or 42 to use multiple of 3) would only need a 5 amp power supply.

All the time I am in search of the best pocket high power LED flashlight. Almost a month ago I bought Aluminum flashlight, and was waiting for the day when I will be able to give a review about it, and that is today. Well, the size is really good, blue metallic color with 115 lumen brightness.
The moment I received this aluminum flashlight and opened it, the light was as it was shown in a picture and was exactly as the specifics were described. It lasts for around 6 hours and this is really good timings. The color of the beam is white and it makes everything so clear when projected on. This aluminum flashlight has an amazing beam and you will notice a ring if you will project the high power LED flashlight on the wall or on some plan surface. It works with 3 AAA size batteries, and as per my experience it is way batter than employing cr123a's. It Works Great if you are taking it to camping with you. Believe me you will come to know its worth. I think it works more than you pay for it.
The most important thing which may knock off a star instantly is the tail cap button. It is kind of a clicky, though does not offer a "momentary on" trait! In case of a clicky button as this one, user should be able to press the switch down half way and have the flashlight get going without a need to completely click the button. I believe it have to be a standard. Unluckily, this aluminum flashlight does not, though it was seemed in its previous model. So, this is kinda disadvantage for this model. As well as, although this aluminum flashlight model is smaller than its older models, and is heavier as well.
