howdo i transfer city navigator from sd card on to my garmin edge 800?

just got garmin edge 800 for my bike unclear how to transfer data from sd card on to my garmin/.

City Navigator (CN) comes in three versions: DVD, download, and SD card.

Only the SD card version is transferable from device to device. If you own the SD version, you merely install the card into the 800 and turn it on.

Otherwise, the maps are locked into each device and cannot be transferred.
