TI DSP Evaluation Board Reduces Electro-Magnetic Interference
Toronto, Canada - GAO Embedded (www.GAOEmbedded.com) recommends its upgraded TI DSP evaluation board with a design based on Texas Instruments' TMS320C6713B DSP. It offers code for testing CCS, PWM, ADC, SPI, SCI, CAN communication, FFT, DC brush/brushless motor and AC motor SPWM and SVOWM. This evaluation board is an ideal tool for study and experimentation and for applications such as scientific research and product development. The board uses an independent power supply for A/D sampling, which effectively reduces electro-magnetic interference (EMI) to the computing unit.
This TI DSP evaluation board, model DEC6713, includes on-board VL-Bus, data/address/control leadout wires and special function pins with leadout wires and 8 status indicating LEDS. It runs at a frequency of 200MHz with a maximum speed of 2400MIPS and can be integrated in a user's system easily and directly. The TI DSP evaluation board provides a MP3 hardware decoding chip, a 10M Ethernet interface, a USB host interface and 3.5mm audio jacks for MIC, Line-in and phone. What's more, this evaluation board supports both external shielded and unshielded interrupt inputs; it also supports any removable storage device.

Whats the best board to use for a Model Railway Baseboard?
I'm new to model railways and building my 1st layout for my step-sons bedrrom for xmas. Whats the best board to use for a base board? Also are there any websites that can give good tips to begginers?
Any advice would be helpfull.

Suggest you find an out of print book called The Professional Approach to Model Railways Ispn 0-85059-833-8 by J Wylie on the internet. (Cheaper than a couple of magazines)
I think you will find all the information you need within this book, including making the landscape, the buildings, rolling stock, wiring etc.
The materials MDF & Plywood, both need powered tools to cut them. Sundelia and soft board have no strength and makes the fitting of pointmotors difficult. (They fall off) but it does cut with a sharp knife. All materials will need a 2 x 1 inch softwood timber frame. 6mm ply is sufficent battened on a 12 inch square grid. Make your first baseboard flat and contour the ground levels up from this by using green pulpboard (Used under lamate flooring) cut and glued in place with PVA woodworkers glue. cut and carve with a sharp knife, or use a disc sander fitted to an electric drill etc. (Dusty and messy)
Paint with household emulsion paint, and texture to suit.
If space is tight, build a back and forth shelf layout using Contiboard (From most DIY shops) shelving material and use double sided stickey tape to fix the track in place. when everything works, ballast the track and landscape as above using pulpboard.
Keep the first layout simple, use hand operated isolated points, idealy if starting from new use digital control, because only two wires are used to feed the track (At the toe of the point) and dont loop the track back on itself (Short circut)
Note: digital control is ideal because it allows a number of trains to be run on the same length of track at the same time, without isolated sections of track and complex wiring.
