does this digital camera need alkaline batteries?
okay so I was browsing the digital cameras walmart had and I saw one that cost 39 bucks. In the description it says it needs 2 AA 1.5v alkaline batteries. Well I have 4 rechargeable energizer batteries that are 1.2 volts and it's NIMH not alkaline. Is it not compatible? what would happen if I put the ones I have and not the alkaline?
Usually the AA Hi-Mh batteries will work as a replacement for alkalines even with the slightly lower voltage. If you try it the worst that would happen is they wont operate the camera. No damage will be done to the camera or the batteries.
You may also be able to use AA lithium batteries which are 1.5v but these are expensive and not rechargeable. Hardly worth the cost for a $39 camera.
You could visit the manufacturers website first to see if they specify alkalines absolutely must be used.
